My efforts to circumvent the print restriction must have caused the problems. Then it will say the driver is not installed in your computer and ask you if you wanna install it. I found that the problematic file is C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\ssm4mdu.dll Can I delete it, and if I do, should I follow any further steps? It wouldn't stay started to I searched the web and came across this article. I was finally able to remove the old printers via the control panel and install the new one.
