Just ran like that - actually hung there for-ever. It just has a SOLID amber light. Sometimes it might go for an hour or two.
- Probably getting ahead of myself, sorry for the slow response, I wasn't getting notifications.
- You can "jump-start" the mobo by shorting the two power on pins with a flathead screwdriver.
- Power supply fan came on, but the computer never booted.
- Very strange and… might be annoying for some.

I simply wanted to use the Dimensions hardware to install XP on the new GX280. Just figure which wires go to power switch and jump the pins on mobo with small screwdriver or anything metal. Power light never did come on....Thanks, Paul

If you get the “amber light of death” you should start with the simplest solutions then work towards the harder solutions. Could this also be happening because my PC has been on for more than a week and a half, and never on standby mode but full power. Pushed power and it started up normally. Check This Out Thanks!

A solid yellow light indicates the power supply is operating normally but the computer is not processing data. The tech guy said they would send me some links to my email to help me troubleshoot but havent heard anything as yet. It’s really disgusting that Dell can get away with selling such sub-par components.
